On our way to phuket,

We reached phuket at around 7.35am(phuket time) collected our luggage and immediately went out to take a taxi. We did not took the limousine taxi as it charges 600baht, so we took the normal metered taxi, but yet te driver did not want to on the meterd, instead he quoted us 450baht. Ok la.. so we just took it. The journey to Patong beach should be around 40mins, but this kookoo driver doesn’t know the way. He has to refer to a map, and end of the day, it was us that was directing him the way. Duhz!! A tourist directing a thai taxi driver to a most popular beach in phuket!!?? So farni…The structure of our resort was wierd, the main entrance was at some small road while the back of the resort, where the cafeteria was were facing the beach. So apparently, we has a hard time finding the resort coz we couldn’t find the main entrance. So in the end, we told the taxi to alight us and we walk to search for our resort.. haha.. that was the 1st time we went into te resort thru the back..

We managed to check in early as there were available rooms. Then we went out again to book for day tours.. There were many small tour stalls along the street. We went to the one near our resort, since she offered us good price and we didn’t want to waste more time in searching and negotiating prices, we just booked with her. We booked a 1/2 day phang na bay tour and a full day phi phi island tour. The 1/2 day tour was 650baht and the phi phi tour was 1200baht. Yippy!!! :-)

1/2 day Phang Na Bay tour. This tour was from 12.30pm to around 8pm.

- Reclining Buddha
- Monkey Cave
- Gipsy fishing village
- James bond island
- Bats cave

They are little stores that sells drinks, ice-cream and bananas.
We can buy the bananas and feed it to the monkeys.
These monkeys must be very fortunate.

Inside the cave. Thats the reclining buddha/a pool of natural
cave water/flight of stairs leading to another cave/statue of
the bones of the Na Takuathung family

Here we are on the longtail boat to visit the gipsy fishing village, james bond island and bats cave.
The weather wasn’t really good that day.
It started raining after we had visited the monkey caves.
But after the rain, the weather was very cooling and the boat ride along the bay was ’shiok!!’
Along the way, we can see limestone caves, mangrove forest, fisherman etc…

The Gipsy fishing village was quite an experience for me.
I dunno but i just dun like it, maybe becoz of the smell.
So i got really giddy after that.
Its a long fishing village, at one end of the village, its like a shopping area.
The other end was the homes for the villages.
The condition was really terrible, so i cant imagine me living in it.
So i cant wait to get out of this fishing village…

Yeah!! This is James Bond Island. Why is it called James Bond??
Coz James Bond acted on this island in his very first movie.
It was low tide when we went there.

Thats the end of our 1/2 day trip. We took the coach back and reached patong beach at 8pm.

Went back to our resort to collect our map and went out in search for our dinner..
Well.. the seafood was cheap bot coz dear cant eat many seafood stuff, so we had to forgo that idea.
So… we ate thai food.
Ate at this Thai Restaurant which was recommeded in the forumn.

10.JPG

Spent quite a long time searching for this restaurant…
It was inside a street towards the very end.
We nearly gave up..
Nice and cheap food. we order 5 dishes, 1 soft drink and 1 beer and thats about 500 baht only.

Another nice food to try in phuket is the pancake banana.
Yummy!!! :-)

Then we went for our massage. Full body massage!!! Woohoo…
Theres a street at patong beach with many pubs and discos..
Saw many many ‘ah qua’… bar top dancers… ang moh flieting with them…
Wanted to get a drink, but it was too ‘messy’, didn’t know which club was good..
So we bought snacks and beer back to our resort instead…

Need to rest early as Day 2 is full day Phi Phi island tour.
Need to be ready by 7.30am!!!
